GMAIL GETS THEMES. Hoorah. Sure, it really doesn't change the way you use gmail, but it makes it more aesthetically pleasing to leave open on your computer. Go to Settings --> Themes --> Start having fun. Article
I hate St. Louis. Everybody from Kansas City, Chicago, New York, Atlanta, Portland, Dallas, etc etc should hate St. Louis. article on why St. Louis sucks. And Everyone should hate St. Louis like Marta because Axel Rose hates St. Louis too.
It is Christmas time. I know, some people deny it. It is still not Thanksgivng and what not. All I know is I heard Christmas music on the radio and now its got me thinking about December 25th.
A lot of people kind of dread the holiday season because of the stress and the spending it involves. I will be honest when I say I do not fall into this boat, but in fact do love this time of the year. This is because I am incredibly selfish. I love getting presents. I can't deny that at all. I am also still in the stage of life where people buy much more for me during this time of year than I could ever spend. And while I basque in the glory of materials, the people who went the trouble of feeding my addiction are further sucked into this stressful monster we call Christmas.
I am not pointing the finger at anyone else except myself. What makes me bring it up is a video that my brother emailed me. It is pretty alarming. Check it out.
10 billion fixes the world water problem! We drop $450 billion on christmas! If we took a little more than 2% of the total money on we spend on Christmas, we would SOLVE this problem. I really hope that stat is somehow made up or inaccurate for the sake of sheer absurdity. It is pretty pathetic when you think about it. That just makes me feel ashamed. I guess it makes you rethink the whole season.
Side Note: Although not related to Christmas, I think it is crazy that we can come up with $700 billion for a bail out in a matter of days, but can not come up with 1/70 (or about 1.5%) of that for the largest cause of death in the world.
Anywho, I am changing my approach to Christmas this year and I guess my challenge to whoever reads this is to do the same thing. We are so far off of the target here that something has to change. I think Christmas could be really cool and powerful time of the year.
I am actually excited about it. I look forward to celebrating the birth of Jesus and getting together and just being with friends and family. I look forward to doing something really cool with money that could have gone towards gifts.
I wonder what this person will do. What do you do in a situation like this? I think worst case scenario. The woman is pregnant and needs to go the hospital. Husband grabs the keys to the old egg yoke VW Beetle. But you're blocked. Do you hop the curb somehow? Back into the SUV behind or what?
